FUTSALCUP: BTS will face Hongyen
August 31, 2022, BTS Korat FUTSALCUP Bintang Timur Surabaya (BTS) FC from Indonesia and Hongyan Thakam FC from Thailand will face off for the first time in the AFF Futsal Cup 2022 final, which will be held at Terminal 21 in Korat in two days.
In the first semifinal, the Indonesian champion Hongyen Thakam defeated the Vietnamese champion Sahako FC, 2-1, while in the second semifinal, Selangor MAC triumphed over both Hongyen Thakam and Selangor, 6-2.
Sunny Rizki Suhendra converted Alfajri Zikri's attempt in the sixth minute, and a minute later Edison Coelho added the second goal, giving BTS the advantage they needed to go up 2-0.
Sahako had hoped to recover, much like they did when they defeated Selangor MAC in the group stage to win the group, but they quickly learned that BTS was a little more seasoned and composed.
BTS for the FUTSALCUP:
Duong Ngoc Linh's darting run paid off and pushed BTS closer as he blasted past goalkeeper Muhammad Nazil Purnama in the 27th minute.
They quickly had many opportunities, but they failed to stop BTS from becoming the first group to ever make it to the final.
To go to the championship game, Hongyen Thakam easily defeated Selangor MAC 6-2.
The team's captain, Katawut Phoopan, scored after five minutes to give them the lead. A left-footed goal by Syed Aizad Daniel Syed Nasir ten minutes later equalized the score.
Wilson Neto's skillfully executed free kick gave Hongyen a 2-1 advantage as they made their way to the locker room in the 13th minute.
Selangor MAC scored their second goal of the match in the 21st minute, but they were unable to stop Hongyen from outplaying them and winning the match.
In the 21st minute, Supot Makrak gave Hongyen the lead as the Thai team got ready to fight in their first season final. The following goals for Hongyen were contributed by Wittaya Duangpoo, Wendel Mendes, and Amarin Akapan.

At 1400 hours, Selangor MAC and Sahako FC will square off for third and fourth place.
At 1700 hours, the championship match between BTS FC and Hongyen Thakam will begin.
